WE MADE IT!!!WE HAVE DONE IT!!! Yes, the dreams of the past 4 years have come true. We couldn’t win it, but made the name of our team proud in front of the whole nation. Now, in the upcoming years the teams in National Level Robotics Competition “ROBOCON” will wait for the Team Robocon SKNCOE to give them the fierce full competition and will wait to see the innovative designs of Robots. I’ve been the part of Team Robocon SKNCOE for the past 4 years of my engineering life. When I had joined the Team, the only thing that the team had was the innovation, the hopes and the motivation to excel in ROBOCON. It took us 4 years and loads of pressure to make the team a great success...........

ROBOCON is an international level competition organised by Asian Broadcasting Union (ABU). This year INDONESIA is the host country for INTERNATIONAL ROBOCON. The journey of TEAM ROBOCON started with the METEOR’14, which was the National Level Robotics Extravaganza. A Robotics Workshop that had made the name in Pune for the past 4 years. METEOR proved to be the synonym of “success” in the field of Robotics. METEOR is targeted to impart the Robotics knowledge among the young brains of engineering institutions throughout the Nation. And this year TEAM ROBOCON SKNCOE have made it with participation of more than 1000 students from 96 colleges throughout the nation.

Yes, this was the first target that the Team achieved in the month of August’14. Now it comes time of ROBOCON 2K15 statement “ROBOMINTON”. The problem statement had a simple game badminton doubles championship........

But the twist was, the game had to be played by the ROBOTS, not by the HUMANS.

We were like WHAT THE ****!!!!! Is this a joke or something like that? Anyways the TEAM ROBOCON SKNCOE started the journey for ROBOCON 2015. There were many brain storming sessions and strategies made by the Team that helped us in emerging out with the two beautiful and innovative designs that made everybody crazy in the ROBOCON’15. The whole team during the brain storming sessions once finalised the designs of the robots, switched over to the automation part. We tried many complex schemes such as Image Processing, SONAR sensors, ULTRASONIC sensors, IR Sensors, etc. But the only MANTRA to succeed in ROBOCON was RELIABILITY not COMPLEXITY. So, the chose the most reliable method and started with the Robot design. There were many difficulties faced by the Team this year.

Many hurdles came across the Team, sometimes financial, sometimes mental, etc, etc......But the Team always douched the hurdles and moved forward. The Team was fully focussed to make the most reliable robots and also to provide good practice to the operators. Side by side the technical team also focussed and tried many complex schemes to automate the robots to play Badminton Doubles Match. By the time January came, we were ready with our first Robot. We started with the operator practice. I still remember the day we did the first successful service, when first time our bot returned the service, etc. And by the end of January both of the Robots were ready. Now it was a time for minor last minute changes and practice, practice, practice.........

Now it comes the ROBOCON’15 day 5th March 2015. We went to the Balewadi Stadium for our first battle against MITCOE and we WON IT. Now as the time was passing there, during the practice sessions we practiced and became even better. We played the friendly match against the some reputed teams, TEAM NIRMA, TEAM IIT KANPUR, etc.And I am glad to say that, we were the only one to beat them during practice matches. Such instances made us more competent and even much better............

Those were the most happening days of my College life. The Team Robocon is not a team. Instead it is a family, where we help each other, solve each and every problems, work throughout the day and night and share and discuss (GOD KNOWS!!! WHAT NOT!!!).

We play, we live, we dream and make innovations come true together.........WE ARE TEAM ROBOCON SKNCOE..........!!!!!!!!!!
